Ca Licensed General Contractor
I am the founding member of Gm & Associates, Architecture & Construction Solutions and I bring over 45 years of experience to the table.
I have been active in the construction industry since 1965. My professional experience has been attained from the ground-up, with hands-on experience, as well as accredited formal professional education.
My Building trade experience began in the art expressive field of Ceramic Tile installation. Actively working as a union member, and apprentice at L.A. Trade Tec, then becoming a Master Mechanic and Forman in that field. I received awards for craftsmanship from the Ceramic Tile Institute for numerous projects, including 1973 Atlantic Richfield Towers, 1976 Security Pacific Bank and 211 Spaulding (Units multiple), and 1978 Space Mountain Disneyland.
Education while at LA Trade Tec also included acquiring a Degree in Construction Management, and ultimately acquiring a State of California, General Contractor’s License. Building ventures, as a General Contractor, produced many vernacular designs, and construction projects. My interest in design, led to acquiring a professional and accredited, Bachelor of Architecture Degree from NewSchool of Architecture and Design, located in San Diego, California.
I have completed my quest to become a Ca licensed Architect, however have not completed my career. I value relationships and building them, so I continue my profession. I am an active member of NCARB (National Council of Architectural registration Board). This is a pre-qualification for most all states, and makes the inter-state reciprocal license process fast and without additional testing. I am also an active Member of the Architects Institute of America.
Along with a love for architecture, I have a concern and sense of responsibility for our environment, and the built environment’s sustainability. This concern led to becoming a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and certified as a LEED, AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Approved Professional.)
Certified as a LEED AP, whether commissioned as the projects LEED consultant, or not, this common sense approach to sustainable design should always be an attribute of the finished product.
My experience and education has been diverse, from the design and construction of rustic mountain log chord wood homes, retail and medical office buildings, to management projects for the Department of Defense, such as the Wounded Warrior Hope and Care Center, and Headquarters buildings, at Camp Pendleton, California.(LEED Platinum rating), or the simpler, however just as important Kitchen remodel.
My hope is that you, or your company, will put this experience to work for you, and join the partnership for Quality, efficiency, Sustainability, and Honesty.
